My tuition w the pri 4 girl.. her name's carmen..teaching her english n maths. Her mum turns out to b a real nightmare. She's a really strict mum. She gv me this prep talk b4 i even started teachin. But even b4 tt, she wanted to me show my i/c n my docs, o lvl n a lvl certs to prove my credentials..(i was thinkin to myself.. i din bring any of these!!) And wat's more, the stupid tuition agency wanted me to fake as tho i'm a full time tutor, 20 yrs old..havin 2 yrs of experience..Hello!! i'm totally not. n i guess the mum aint stupid also. ok. her comes her prep tok. "My daughter's in an elite sch..(RGPS..) I'll really like somebody who is dedicated. i'm really pragmatic n academics oriented..blah blah.." then she goes on and asks if i hv prepered any lessons for her daughter..if i brought along any assessmt bks. (she's really expectin too much out of me huh? for payin only $130?!?!) Anw, i told her i hv to hv a rough gauge on where her daughter is weak at first, n where has her teacher stopped. Not enough..she goes on to test me! She shows me a list of vocab words, n exclaims, "The sch has really high standards n expectations of their students. Even their vocab words r far more difficult than u can find in e assessmt bks." Then she pts to this word - rivulets. thank gdness i noe wat it is. Aft tt, she continues testing me on whether i noe how to explain maths prob sums usin diagrams n mdls. She said e previous tuition tchr used algebra to teach her daughter. Anw, the story's real long. But i believe the nightmare's not goin to end here..Poor me, for the sake of $130..
