Though i may not have either experience n know not much abt it, i know that in a marriage, almost every one starts out celebratorily, but there will be troubles to face n issues that will test the foundations of this marriage.
I tend to think the same when it comes to my relationship w God. Not that it may be blasphemous in any way to think of it in terms of marriage, like how ppl misinterpret Mary's love for Jesus n even sayin she had his child etc. But we are called to be brides awaiting the coming of e bridegroom. N as i was saying, yeah, my relationship with God is also not too far fr how you wud imagine a marriage to be. of cos one of e celebratory part was accepting Christ into my life n understanding e meaning of His love. n sometimes, it's the memories of these times tt keep u goin.
But the point of me writing this is coming to a realisation that it's the trials that we face together that makes this relationship strong. Sometimes i think God could have left me rather happy just by allowing things to go well n such. Havent we all heard once in a while tt a quarrel is what mks a marriage interesting? perhaps imagine a marriage without probs to iron out or difficult times tog... that's e same way it is i guess. knowing my experience with God is much deeper n far greater as i go through impossible times, but knowing we have a great partnership that will get through the toughest times.
well, then again a marriage can go either ways. Either u pass the toughest times together, or u never make it through. Hv u ever heard of this lame excuse one party gives when they always try to brk up w e other? "it's not tt i dun trust u, but i dun trust myself enuff." somewhere there. the self-blaming one. then e other party cant retaliate or spk up for themselves, cos ultimately e prob is not w them rite!?! i always thot tt was e lamest n most selfish even when it tries to disguise itself in e most unselfish way possible. its e no-guts excuse, believe me!
so why am i talkin abt this, i sense i am losing focus in what i was intendin to say..but yeah. its true when i say i dun trust myself sometimes cos the other party is infallible, always givin, always loving n always there. its impossible to think how God just gvs n gvs, n He's e best at comforting when I'm feeling e worst. i've failed Him several times definately, perhaps totally ignored Him. cold-war period u might think...
But going through bad, terrible and tough times really makes me understand the lover God is. He loves us no matter our sins, our probs, our failings.
And this relationship is definately toughening up i believe, just that i've got to toughen myself up as a lover of God too..
